Large Bowls (I got mine for $1 each at Wal-Mart)
Set of bowls for ingredients: chopped onions and other ingredients you prepare ahead of time
Stock pots – I use 11 qt, 20 qt and a pasta cooker pot that comes with the colander insert this is great for more than just cooking pasta. I use it for boiling potatoes and making stock too.
Large skillet
Sauce pans
Colanders
Crock pot – A great way to get more food on your cooking day without much effort!
Knives – all sharp and in good condition: carving, paring and serrated (bread) ones
Casserole dishes sized for your family – I use some Pyrex casserole dishes that came with plastic lids
Cooling Racks
Cookie Sheets
2 Timers (or more)
2 sets of measuring cups (1 dry/ 1 liquid)
2 sets measuring spoons
2 Cutting Boards: 1 for veggies & 1 for meats
Large spoons, spatulas, ladle & whisks
Wax paper, foil and freezer wrap
Straws for cheap vacuum sealing method
Vacuum Sealer – Nice to have
Quart & Gallon Size Freezer Bags
Rigid Containers for the Freezer & Heating
Freezer Labels – 30 Day Gourmet Makes some wonderful labels that come off easily when the dish warms up.
Sharpie Marker
Tip: Don’t use more dishes than necessary because it’ll be more to clean when you’re done!
